Guides for Parents

Jigsaw have produced two useful guides for parents and carers which have been shared with our families. The first guide describes the PSHE programme as a whole. The second leaflet explains the RSE (relationships and sex education) aspect of the programme. If you have any questions about this, please speak with your child's class teacher or our PSHE Leader – Mrs McNeill

Additional copies of the leaflets can be emailed to you on request as the file permissions won't allow us to attach these to our website.

**Please email thetynings@sgmail.org.uk to request a copy.

Each year group has their own Jigsaw Friend to accompany them on their journey. The Friends become part of each session and are often passed round during discussions. You can meet each Friend below ...

Below are two documents, the first explains how the statutory teaching of 'Relationships and Sex' is approached through our Jigsaw scheme of learning. The second is a map, showing where 'Relationships and Sex Education' fits into the scheme of learning

Alongside Jigsaw, we now teach a new PSHE scheme focusing on mental health.  It is called Weaving Well-being.  It is taught in classes from Year 2 up to Year 6.

The main topics for this new scheme are detailed in this framework picture below.

Each child has their own work book, which includes activities to do in class, homework activites and a pull out for parents.  Below is a picture of the Year 2 pupil book and the teacher guide.
