Welcome to The Tynings School

On behalf of the pupils, staff and governors I would like to extend you a very warm welcome to The Tynings Primary School Website. We are a happy, vibrant school which welcomes everyone, and ensures our children feel happy, safe and part of a caring and inclusive community. We are a school which wants children to learn great things, in great ways.

Through our engaging curriculum, we foster a passion for learning and creativity, enabling our children to see that through effort, persistence, commitment and hard work we can all achieve and become effective learners. We believe children learn best when immersed in exciting themes so organise our broad and well balanced curriculum into topics to generate a learning ‘buzz.’

We have an extremely dedicated team of senior leaders, teachers and support staff who all work hard to reach high standards in everything we do, ‘Achieving together’ and ‘Inspiring Each Other’ to be the very best we can be for our learners. We have a good relationship with our parents, the local community and other schools, particularly our cluster of 6 ‘Domino Hub’ schools, a group of like-minded schools from across South Gloucestershire. We believe that education is a partnership between home and school and regard our parents as active partners in their child’s education; we value their interest and support.

Our school values were developed by the whole school community and reflect the approach we take to learning and our expectations of ourselves and our learners.

Values

Respect I respect myself, treat others as I would like to be treated, and value what I have around me.
Ambition I have high expectations of myself and others; I focus on my learning, and make the most of opportunities which come my way
Determination I am always ready to be the best I can be, I try my hardest, and I persevere.
Adventure I am enthusiastic and creative in my learning; I rise to a challenge and am curious to find out more

We hope that this website provides you with as much information as possible about our school, the staff and the many activities that our children enjoy through our curriculum and extra-curricular activities.
